In Deepest Sympathy

It's with a heavy heart that I made this card.  Started on Friday and just couldn't concentrate.  Had a few stops and starts and finally finished today.  As I worked I just couldn't help but think of the tragedy this family is having to endure.

While deployed in Afghanistan, a co-worker has received the most horrible news that his 20 year old son has passed away here in Kingston.  I can't even begin to get my head around what he and his family must be going through right now.  I made this card for our entire office to sign & give him.  I'll need to add many pages on the inside because I know the support for him will be enormous.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Darren.

Carla - I am so very sorry to learn of Darren's profound loss. We are never ever the same after losing a beloved child. I imagine that Darren and his wife will always have one foot in this world, and one foot in the next. It boggles my mind how thousands of us, who never knew Darren's son, will be rushing to hug him when we get to heaven. How many people he may welcome into heaven on a day to day basis...people that he never knew, but people who fell in love with him through the amazing man that his father is.

Your beautiful card and heartfelt sentiment will surely be a comfort to the young man's family.
