Hello lovers of all things crafty. Just sharing a quick card today that I made for a neighbour in my condo where I live. I've just learned that he has been dealing with cancer for some time and is now in hospital as it has spread rapidly throughout his body.
I don't know him that well, but I don't think he's older then me (I'm late 40's). For all the times I think to myself in a negative way about "how old I am"... the first thought that struck me when I heard his news was... "he so young". He certainly has lots of support between his family and his partner, but I just wanted him to know that he was in my thoughts too.
I love this beautiful sentiment from an MFT set I have: "Vertical Greetings". I sponged the edges of the Spellbinders Nestibilities 8 and then layered onto Decorative Labels 8. Paper is from American Crafts (I think). Butterfly of course is a combination of Memory Box Darla and Vivienne.
I finished the inside with a sentiment from the Verve set "Words of Wisdom" along with the small butterfly die "Butterfly Delights" from Memory Box and their Loop Border die as well.
I think I stared at it for 30 min before deciding what to write.
Well, long day and I'm totally pooped but decidedly not feeling as "old" as I would normally tend to feel. It's odd that it sometimes takes a tragedy in someone else's life to make us appreciate the life we already have.
Really hope you're all having a good week.
'Till next time,
Carla.

I am so glad I clicked over from SCS to see the inside, which is also quite lovely. Such a beautiful card!
Oh no! Your poor neighbor! Is it the guy with the orange pants? Your card is lovely and I'm certain it will go far in lifting his spirits. You're such a good egg.
Oh Carla, these are the hardest cards to make and even harder to write in! Those MFT sentiments are perfect and you did a beautiful job on this card - I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
Wonderful card, especially those colours and so right for the occasion. Also love your glitzy bear in the previous card. xx Flora
Carla- what a beautiful and thoughtful card- sometimes thoughts and feelings are hard to put into words. I'm sure he will appreciate the thought.

What a beautiful and thoughtful card, Carla. Cancer is such a horrible thing, it is so good to have something beautiful to focus on. It sure is strange how someone else's struggle makes us grateful for our own life, but it does. xxx
Carla this is stunning.
Hi Carla, that sentiment just says it all. I have had a hard start to this year with my sister being Diagnosed with Womb Cancer. She had a positive attitude from day one and is now back at work. I saw her lots but also sent her cards throughout her treatments this would have a been a perfect sentiment to use.
Your card is beautiful, I am sure it lifted his spirits, and he will have appreciated you kind thoughts.
Happy Crafting
Patricia
Lovely card, Carla. You always do such beautiful work. It's hard for me, too, to find words to convey my feelings on cards. The sentiments - outside & in - are so perfect though. Very, very nice. {{hugs}}
