Bismarck's Christmas

Love this little guy... but hate what I've done to his poor eyes... looks like he's been up for days... LOL.  This is Bismarck from Stamping Bella

I think I've had this paper as long as I've been making cards... called Paper Pizazz.  It must have been on sale because I've got an endless supply.  I coloured up Bismarck with my Copics and added a little glitter, some sheer ribbon & a gem stone.  His sleepness-nights-look was courtesy of my black glaze pen.

Love the Marvelous Squares die from Spellbinders!  Endless possibilities.  I've sewn down a couple of layers and then propped the main image up with double sided foam tape.

Sentiment is from a Verve set and that little snowflake is a die from MFT.  Off to work on my Bellariffic Friday card... see you back here then!!

A few days late...

Popping in to post last Friday's Bellariffic card for the create-a-tag challenge. I'm running behind this year... 'tis the season.  I created my tag in a card format and used Polly Packages as my focal point.

I used various papers including American Crafts (Kringle & Co), Simple Stories (Handmade Holiday) and my all-time fav... Basic Grey (Aspen Frost).

Used dies from MFT:  (1) Stacking Stars and (2) Tag You're It... and from L'il Inker Designes, I used the faux stitching rectangles. That gorgeous green piped nylon ribbon is from Martha Stewart (really does what it's told...lol).  And as you can see my addiction with glitter is not getting any better.

Kept the inside fairly simple and added Polly once more stamped lightly in SU Mellow Moss.  Christmas sentiment from Verve.

Ready to take a stab at this Friday's Sketch Challenge?  Looks pretty easy!  And you can check out Bloggabella for a little inspiration... amazing cards on there lately - wow!!

Shoot for the Moon

Hey crafty peeps - thanks for stopping back!  I've got a little non-Christmas Bella card combining 2 stamp sets:  (1) Journal your Art Out Happy Silhouettes Graffitti and (2) Mabel is reaching for the stars (sentiment):

I love the freedom of these silhouettes stamps (this is just 1 of 3)... and they are pretty versatile with all the sentiments out there that you would use with them.

I used my Lil Inker Designs faux stitching rectangle dies along with the mini bow die. The stars are MFT.  Didn't add much to this, a few pearls and some glitter.

Finished off the inside with a lighter version of the Stamping Bella silhouette stamp and another die cut star.

See you back Friday for the theme challenge of "create a tag".  You can either create the tag alone or use it as a focal point on your card.  And as always... check out Bloggabella for your chance to win!!

Later gator...

I coloured them up with about a ba-zillion Copics (list below) and added some clouds by sponging around a cloud die with SU's Bashful Blue ink... it's very light and I love the effect.

Ho Ho Ho

Hello again!  Back today with one of my all-time-favorite stamps from Stamping Bella.  Love her so much that I had to stamp her twice in my card.  =)

So this is Polly Packages and she's freakin adoreable, don't you think???  I coloured her up with Copics and added Glossy Accents to her little Christmas package bundle.  I used velvet ribbon, sheer ribbon and lace on this card.  I also tried to add little snowflake die cuts, but it just felt like too much, so I left them in the picture anyway.... I'm not above using props to make my cards look better... lol.

Lots of glittler on the white snow flake die and on all of Polly's trim & scarf.  I absolutely love both sides of this Basic Grey "aspen frost" Christmas paper... and bought lots so I hope you don't get tired of it - lol.

And here's where I stamped Polly Packages again on the inside.  I used the MFT letter dies for "ho ho ho".

Bellariffic Bling Friday

Happy Friday all!!  Glad you're back for Bellariffic Friday - this week's card was a "bling" theme, so I poured on the glitter and pearls!

I had no trouble matching up this gorgeous Uptown Girl Eve under the mistletoe with this Christmas music paper from Basic Grey (aspen frost).

I added glitter all around the Decorative Elements Labels 8 (made the frame by using regular Labels 8 on the inside) and of course lots of glitter added to the white trim of Eve's dress.  Roses are a mix of MFT's royal rose & mini rose dies.

I finished the inside with more of the same paper and a stamp from Quietfire Designs... I wanted a humerous card and I thought this was just the ticket.

Have a great Friday everyone!  Make sure you stop over at Bloggabella to check out all the Bella Bling cards for todays challenge.

Bye for now,
Carla.

... a special card for a special young lady...

I was asked by my cousin to make a card for her daughter who will be turning 13.  I knew the exact Stamping Bella stamp I would use... Ava loves to celebrate

I coloured her up with my Copics and restamped the cake to add again with double sided foam tape (the white layer is also popped up).

I love this Pebbles paper and I especially love the 1/4" strips at the bottom of each page so I took one off and decided to thread it through using one of my SU small slot punches.

I added Emilee's age with my MFT "by the numbers" die set on the front and her name on the inside was added with my Revolution font dies.

SUPPLIES USED:

Stamps:
Stamping Bella: Uptown Girl - Ava loves to celebrate

Paper:
Bella's Bestest paper, Pebbles & SU's Whisper White

Dies:
Memory Box - meridian border
MFT - mini rolled rose & by the numbers

I think I will make this card again for my niece who turns 10 in December - I know she would love it.  8)

Here's Friday's Sketch challenge if you'd like to participate.  Hope you can!!  You could win $20 in Bella Bucks so get your favorite Bella stamp out and try the sketch.

Well as far as Sundays go, this has been a productive one (unusual for me).  Lots done... laundry, cleaning & cards.  I actually feel ready for the week!

Back soon,
Carla.

Back with a Bella...

Love this beautiful stamp from Stamping Bella.  I've used her so many times.  This is Little Birdie Jane by Jane Davenport.... and yes I'm still in my "brown mood".

It's all about the "E" colour Copics for me lately, but then I usually stick close to the earth tones.  I brightened it up with pale blue patterned paper from Basic Grey (gypsy)... and of course some glitter...

(I wish I had gone a little heavier with the glitter now.)  Oh and for once I haven't finished the inside - just couldn't make my mind up what I wanted to do.  This stamp comes with a sentiment "a little birdie told me", but I may just keep this as a blank notecard.  Either way, craft room light is out for tonight...(and so is mine).

I did the border on either side of Little Birdie Jane with the MFT dizzie border die & just cut it in half to layer behind the center piece.

SUPPLIES USED:

Stamps:
Stamping Bella: Little birdie Jane by Jane Davenport (includes sentiment)

Paper:
Bella's Bestest paper, Basic Grey "gypsy" and Making Memories "cosmo petite paisley", SU's Whisper White & River Rock

Dies:
MFT - dizzie border, squiggle border, royal roses

Copics:
R0000, 000
E30, 33, 34, 35, 37
E70, 71, 74, 93, 95
W00, 1, 3
B91, 95, 97

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Close to Cocoa

Extras:
Martha Stewart craft seam binding in walnut, sewing
Hope your week is going well.  Will see you Friday when this week's theme challenge is to use buttons or bows.  Should be good!

Until then,
Carla.

Lucille sends her love

Quick card from me tonight.  Here's Lucille sends her love.  Well, actually not a quick card as much as a quick post (too embarrassed to admit how long it took me to colour this up with my Copics - lol!!).  I'm no speedy with those things, that's for sure.

I love the affect of the glossy accents on the hearts and I couldn't resist adding glitter to her dress.

My favorite of all my Copics are the "E's" so I've indulged and coloured her completely in E shades with the exception of R20 for her cheeks.

I've added the sentiment (that's included with Lucille) by cutting it out with an MFT die (scalloped ribbon).

SUPPLIES USED:

Stamps:
Stamping Bella:  Lucille sends her love

Paper:
Bella's Bestest paper, MME "signature suite", Basic Grey "curio" and Very Vanilla.

Dies:
SB - labels 10
MFT - ribbon scallop

Copics:

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink "antique linen"

Extras:
Prima flower, Hero Arts flower, glitter, glossy accents, brown adhesive pearl, sewing, glue pen

That's it from me........ badda boom... badda bing!

It's that time again!!

I love Bellariffic Friday!!  But ... this one?  Not so much... it marks the end of my vaaa-caaaaay!!  (yes, that was me crying).

But what an incredible week it's been.  Love having time off work to relax, regroup and recharge.  For me that's reading and making cards... and doing both to excess.  It fits the budget too - lol.  (Actually the budget probably is the way it is because of what I spend on craft supplies.)

So now I'll stop gabbing and show you my take on today's Bellariffic Sketch Challenge:

Sweet sketch - lots of possibilities.  I used Veronica by Mo Manning from Stamping Bella. She comes as a set with the sentiment... and I chose to use the first part on the front and the rest on the inside.  Love breaking stamps up like that.

Can you tell I found my stash of pearls?!  Yep, probably a little overboard but does Veronica look like she does anything by halvesNope

As you can tell I paper pieced her dress (and was tempted to make it longer - hee, hee).  I also popped up the gift bag & gift box with foam tape and gave them each a bit of glitter. I also stamped the small present one more time to add to the inside:

Stamps:

Stamping Bella: Veronica by Mo Manning (includes sentiment)

Paper:
Bella's Bestest paper, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Jillibean (pink) & Creative Imaginations (green)

Dies:
SB... classic oval, labels 4, classic edges 1 (scallop)
Memory Box...meridian border
MFT... royal roses
Punch... Martha Stewart leaf

Copics:
E000, 01, 02
R20, 81, 85
E30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37
YG11, 13, 25

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress spun sugar

Extras:
sewing machine, adhesive pearls, glitter, foam tape, Cuttlebug swiss dot embossing folder

Have a lovely Friday everyone.  Don't forget to head over to Bloggabella to check out all the enteries and if you didn't get a chance to enter a card for your chance to win $20 in Bella bucks, then be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win $10 in Bella bucks.  Next week is a theme challenge... "use buttons or bows".  Easy peasy.. I might even add a few pearls... if there's any left by then.  ;)   So... what to do on my last day off... well... I think I'll make a card!!  8)   Till next time, Carla.

WMSC113

Hello!  I'm back to try another Waltzingmouse Challenge again today.  I used one of my favorite sets that coordinates beautifully with Spellbinders... Vintage Labels 10.

For the largest of the label 10 dies, I used white ink on craft paper and then the next two layers both use SU Mauve Mist.  Love the soft vintage designs of these stamps!!  Of the sentiment sets that I have from WMS, I didn't have anything that would fit inside of the smallest dies, so I went with one I had from Verve.

Because I used Pebbles "new arrival" paper with birds, I thought I would just complete the card with a bird theme and so added the Poppystamps dies (vintage bird cage & nestled bird).

I stuck to the sketch as much as possible - I'm terrible for never getting them exact.  But I'm happy with the turn out.  Here's the inside with the little birdcage:

Stamps:

Waltzingmouse Stamps - Vintage Labels 10
Verve - Smallest Things
Just Rite - Classic Lace Edges Two

Paper:
Bella's Bestest paper, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Grey "basics", Pebbles "new arrival" & "country picnic"

Dies:
SB - classic edges 2, labels 10, floral flourishes
MFT - rolled rose, squiggle border
Memory Box - meridian border
Poppystamps - vintage bird cage & nestled bird

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & SU Mauve Mist, Colorbox frost white

Extras:
adhesive pearls, sewing, pink ric rack

Well that's it for me.  Back tomorrow for Bellariffic Friday!!  If you'd like to enter, be sure to e-mail your card to Emily tonight.  See you then!!

Carla.

Verve - Words of Wisdom

Well I guess it took a few days off work for me to crack open my new Verve set "Words of Wisdom" - omg love it!.  I seem to make more and more of these inspiring and encouraging cards lately... maybe I secretly make them for me because I love the messages (and need to hear it).

I wanted to do something soft & pretty and take a break from colouring.  I stamped the sentiment in Color Box frost white onto SU Crumb Cake cardstock and then lightly sponged around the edges.

The lacy edges were added using Spellbinders Classic Edges Two dies & Just Rite coordinating stamps.  Again stamped in white.  Love making different lace borders from these sets.  Endless possibilities.  Added a bit of real lace and of course lots of pearls.  I love the soft & pretty look so much.

I finished the inside with a bit more of the patterned paper & another bit of the "lace paper".  I made up a bunch so I have it on hand for future cards.  8)

SUPPLIES USED:

Stamps:
Verve - Words of Wisdom
Just Rite - Classic Lace Edges Two

Paper:
Bella's Bestest paper, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, MME "On the bright side"

Dies:
SB - fancy tags 2 & classic edges 2
MFT - vertical greetings

Copics:
omg..........none!!

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Colour Box frost white

Extras:
lace, hero arts flowers, pearls, sewing, linen thread x 2
Well it's a vacation week for me and it's rainy and gloomy today.  But a rainy gloomy day at home is always better then a rainy gloomy day at work. Am I right?!   Until next time, Carla.

Dropping you a line

Hi again - just popping in to "drop you a line" on Labour Day.  I've coloured up sweet little Ramona Fishing and popped her into a card.

I love this Stamping Bella image, but have some regrets about adding so much to the card that she kind of misses her spotlight.  Just got a little carried away I think.  But simple or not... she's getting glossy accents - that's a given.  lol.

For the inside I stamped the fishing pole portion and added the sentiment that comes with Ramona:

Now I'm off to come up with something for this Bellariffic Friday's sketch.... and here she is:

Winnie... Pretty in Pink

Is this an amazing Sunday or what?!  Just a beautiful day out there!

Coloured up little Winnie last night.  She looks like she'd rather be out then in... but what a cutie she is.  Can't wait to try this image again... those curtains are begging to be paper pieced, right?!  This is Uptown Girl Winnie peeking out the window by Stamping Bella

Now as far as Copics go, I don't normally go for the brighter colours and these pinks (RV11 & 13) are down right fluorescent.  Abandoned twice, but then determined to finish I decided to add a few streaks of E81 overtop of the curtains to tone it down a bit and add some creases.  Then I used my Inkssentials white pen and added a little dot-design.

As usual... heaving on the glossy accents!  LOL - now you know what attracted me to this image... and no, I don't buy it in bulk quantites... YET

Kept the inside quite simple as usual.  Love little sweet Winnie though, eh?  Don't you just want to ring her doorbell?!

SUPPLIES USED:

Stamps:
Stamping Bella: Uptown Girl Winnie peeking out the window

Bella's Bestest paper, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Regal Rose, MME Miss Caroline

Back to School

I do love seeing kids on their first day back... a bundle of nerves and all dressed in their new clothes (or in my case it was a uniform... a kilt).  The kids get photographed on front porches with brand new lunch bags and pencil cases.  And then another year begins.

No kids for me... but I do have 2 incredible nieces that I will watch go off to school on Tuesday and I'm off work that day, so I'm excited about their big day.

For Stamping Bella's the 'Back to School' theme today I chose to use Bye Bye Girl by Mo Manning.  I love her little ladybug backpack.

I coloured her up with Copics and used some of the Cosmo Cricket "measuring up" to add some numbers as well as MME "dilly dally".  This was an odd choice for me actually - numbers were never my choice in school.  Still aren't... unless it's patterned paper of course... lol.

I curled & distressed the edges of the diagonal piece for a little worn out scribbler look.  Anyone still call them scribblers?!!  LOL!  For me they'd start out so neat & tidy on the first page and then barely legible towards the end (and full of doodles & Holly Hobbies).

And as always my Glossy Accents had to sneak in there somewhere.  I thought she deserved a shiny new backpack... and of course glittler on the furry collar.  8)

Finished the inside with more of the numbered papers and again kept this without sentiment in case I use it for other purposes.

So!  On that note, I wish you all a happy first-day-back as parents and for those of you who are able to wave the school bus off... are you running back home to make cards with your free time?!!  lol

Check out the other Back to School cards at Bloggabella to see what the rest of the team has come up with.  Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win Bella bucks!!
