So nice to be back.

Hello!  So nice to be back after a month of not blogging & card making.  I really really really missed it.  I want to say a very big thank you to those of you who left me notes on here or sent me e-mails and facebook messages to see how I was - it meant a lot.  No mystery - I had just hurt my knee at work and spent a lot of days & evenings with my leg up on piles of pillows catching up on my favorite tv shows & my reading.  Life is just so tough sometimes - lol!!

Well I made a few cards on the weekend and want to share one using Journal Your Art Out Thinking Birds.  I couldn't resist stamping the birds a 2nd time to cut out & mount with foam tape.

I made the background with the masking technique & sponged on colours to create a moon and soft clouds.  It was only when I finished that I decided to add the sentiment from this set called Mabel is reaching for the stars.

I tried to add the chocolate coloured linen thread directly behind the "bird wire" to make it look as though it continued on.

I used the Notebook Edge die from MFT along with Spellbinders Labels 8.  Wish I could remember the name of this pretty musical paper... but this nameless piece came from my scrap drawer so I can't pass it along to you.

For the inside I used the 2nd stamp in this set and wanted a softer look so I used Memento Grey Flannel ink.

Can't tell you how nice it was to mess up my Craft Room on Sunday.  It was too neat and tidy for far too long.  Loved getting my fingers inky.  Now I'm really looking forward to this Bellariffic Friday's theme challenge to "add snow to your card".  Hope you can join the fun - just e-mail Emily your card by Thursday night for a chance to win some Bella Bucks... and hey... if your week gets too busy and you run out of time... then make sure you stop over at Bloggabella on Friday and leave a comment for another chance to win!

Well that's it for me.

It's always nice taking a little stamping break. ;) Carla what a beautiful card, love what you did for the background and great idea continuing with the thread! Your comment the other day was so sweet, thank you. I use strange color combos, lol, and on that red dress I used R89 BG93 C3 and black pencil/gamsol. Lately I've just been coloring any old red bkg and using my pencils for shading, black or sepia, whatever.

Glad to hear your knee is better enough for you to mess up your craft room again! Lol! Take care of you and don't get too fancy on that knee yet, OK? Love your card, especially the thought you put into the background with the bird wire and the sponging. Yes, I agree, you HAD to pop those birds up.It's a beautiful card.

So glad to see you back creating again and feeling better. Love all the extra touches on this - the crocheted flower topped hemp bow, pearls, border and the birds haning out in your image panel and carried out beyond. Fantastic!
