Bellariffic Friday !!

Yeah it's Friday!!  Weekend is stretching out before me and life is good.  Just finished my very first Bellariffic Friday Sketch Challenge as a BABEROONI ... and yes, I'm still stoked!!

Here's the sketch:
I decided to use "Sadie" by Mo Manning, which includes this cute sentiment as well.  I think I used almost every Copic I own - lol!!  Here's my take on the sketch:

Here's what I used:

Stamps:

Stamping Bella "Sadie" by Mo Manning (includes sentiment)

Paper:
Bella's Bestest paper, MME Miss Caroline, The Girls Paperie "Vintage Whimsy"

Dies:
Memory Box... meridian border, fancy blossoms, puffy clouds
MFT... fence
Spellbinders... Labels 20 & rectangles

Copics:
BG0000, BG000, BG10, BG11, BG72
E00, E01, E02, E11, E13, E17, E30, E31, E33, E50, E51, E53, E55, E71, E74
YR21, YR20, YR23, YR24
W00, W1, W2, W3

Extras:
Martha Stewart craft seam binding, sewing machine, adhesive pearl

I popped the main image up as well as the clouds and the sentiment.  Very easy sketch and fun to put together.

Now give yourself a big treat and head over to Bloggabella and check out the amazing talent of the rest of the Bella Babes and all the entries following this sketch.

Have a great weekend all!!

Till next time,
Carla.

A Little Bird Told Me....

... that I was welcome to join the Stamping Bella Design Team!!!  HOW COOL IS THAT?!!

I'm so excited!! I have so much to do too... I want to add the AMAZING Stamping Bella Babes to my sidebar... oh, and the logo for Stamping Bella... what else, ahhh....I'm going to be sooooo much better at recording the supplies used in my cards (no more sluffing off!).

So, down to Bella Business... for my "first official" Bella card I was dying to use Jane Davenport's "Little Birdie" (it also comes with the sentiment).  I used my favorite Copic colours of blue-green & browns... I have to admit I'm sold on this combination of colours and guilty of using them repeatedly.

Well I plan to be back for Friday's Bellarific Challenge... if you'll have me!!  Thank you Emily for this awesome opportunity!!

Bunny Thank You

Some Bunny Says Thanks.  Had a request from a friend to make a thank you card with a bunny theme.  A fellow co-worker had their pet bunny pass away and donated all their bunny supplies, food & equipment to my friend.  So driving home from work all I could think was... "do I have any bunnies???"

Found my Sugar Nellie bunny after sorting through a bunch of stamps.

Bunny is coloured with Copics & the "thanks" is from a Verve set.  Papers are a mixed batch from MME, vellum, & Carta Bella.  Lacey vellum border was created with Just Rite Classic Lace Edges & Spellbinders matching dies.  MFT dies include the small rose die & the lacey border.

Here's the inside - kept it simple... and found another smaller bunny I could use.  Sentiment is from SU.

Now!  Time to go watch Big Brother!!

'Till next time,
Carla.

Vienna on her Vespa

Another.  Hot.  Day.  I'm completely useless on days like this and start wishing for rain to cool things off.  We actually had a weather warning:  "potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall".  But haven't seen one drop yet.

Oh well, I did manage to get a card done with a fan overhead and one right beside me... so I have the same windblown look you might have after an hour on the vespa - lol.

Image is from Stamping Bella and coloured with Copics.  The sentiment (which I love) is from Hero Arts.  Paper is Cosmo Cricket and cloud dies are from Memory Box.

Well, short post from me tonight.  All I want now is a cool shower and an early night.  8)

Till next time,
Carla.

Uptown Girls are back!

Love this stamp!  There's just too much cuteness going on with these two.

Colours may be a bit dull to some, but I'm not a bright-primary-colour kind of gal.  Muted tones are more my thing I guess.  The paper is Carta Bella and the stamp is Stamping Bella....hmmmm... just noticing that coincidence now.  8)

The prerequisite sparkle for a girls night on the town is not showing up on my photos unfortunately, but I did add glitter to the hem and a little to the yellow dress.  Image is coloured with copics.

This cute paper bow is made from a die from Lil' Inker Designs.  The sentiment I printed on my computer... saw it on a store bought card once and love it.    Flowers are Hero Arts.

Wish I had legs like that.  Even the nobby knees.  lol

Till next time,
Carla.

Bella Uptown Girl

It's so hot today you could fry an egg on an icecube!  I pretty much sat in front of my fan today.  If I got up to put a load of laundry in or do anything else... I immediately returned and plopped myself down.  No energy.  No get-up-and-go.

I tinkered with this card today on and off.  Can't tell you how many times I was going to scrap it because the colouring wasn't going as planned... but I love it when a darker Copic can hide the sins of a lighter Copic...lol... so I was happy in the end.

The stamp of course is from Stamping Bella and the little sentiment is from a MFT set.  DP is 7 gypsies.  Eiffel Town die is from MFT as well.

Off to take a nice cool shower and go lay in front of the fan again.  With any luck, I'm melting off calories..........lol

Till next time,
Carla.

Mo's Musical Card

I thought I would enter a card for Mo's Guest Designer Challenge.  Technically the challenge was "dancing/singing"... but I had a "musical" Mo image, so I'm hoping that's close enough.  8)

The sentiment is from Verve and the inside just says "Superstar".  I used a Good Luck theme for someone who's shooting for the musical stars.  (Lord knows I'm not one of them... not even in the shower.)  Musical notes are MFT dies and of course this gorgeous image is from Mo Manning (coloured with Copics).

Well that's it from me tonight.  Off to grab dinner!!  When I saw the challenge I dove right in and got started... and now I'm starving.  Good luck to all who enter!!

Till next time,
Carla.

My Friend, My World

Well guess what - more vellum!  LOL!  And to think this stuff has been sitting in my drawer for years.  Honestly, I don't know about me sometimes.  I'm just so smitten with that white lacy border... I just can't get enough already.

Soooooooo.... I went searching on You Tube the other day for "paper rose tutorials" to see what I could find. I probably spent an hour watching numerous different videos to try my own rose and my efforts yielded 1 rose and 2 smaller ones (at bottom of card)... but I love how they turned out! (The upper rose groups were made using MFT Royal Rose die.) So anyway, I will include the link for the tutorial I eventually went with. It did take a while, but to be honest I really enjoyed it the whole process. I do plan to make more, but I will make a whole "rose garden" at one sitting so I can have them available at the ready for future cards.

Here's the inside:

Well that's it from me tonight.... although I do want to mention that I really am enjoying your comments.  Each ones brings a big smile and are genuinely appreciated.... so thank you!!

'Till next time,
Carla.

There's no words...

... when a friend's Mom dies.  This is for a friend at work who just lost her Mom.

Paper is MME (On the Bright Side); I made the roses with MFT royal rose die... also tried the roses in vellum for the first time and love the effect.  Sentiments both front & inside are from a Sympathy set from MFT.  Lacy vellum created using Classic Lace Edges 1 & 2 from Just Rite & Spellbinders matching dies.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend.  Even though Monday is looming, I'm making the most of it.

Till next time,
Carla.

Lacy Girly Girl Card

Lace, satin ribbon, dew drops, pearls & butterflies.  How much more girly-girl can you get.  Well maybe a splash of pink, but I stuck with my favorite colours on this one.

I stamped the border on velum in Staz On Opaque Cotton White.  I'm not a fan of wet embossing, so I just let it dry for a couple of days.  I love how lacy it turned out!  The stamps are a combination of Just Rite Classic Lace Edges 1 & 2 & then used the co-ordinating Spellbinder dies to cut them out (also Classic Edges 1 & 2).

Paper is Basic Grey Little Black Dress & I just added some Very Vanilla & Early Espresso.   Butterfly dies are from Memory Box (Vivienne & Darla).

Love a good 'ol girly-girl card.  I stamped a bunch of the lace borders and have them ready to use in more cards so you know what I'll be doing.......

'Till next time,
Carla.

In a Friend you find your second self.

Must have been in a floral mood I guess.  Started with these flowers on the weekend and there they sat.  I began playing around with them tonight and this is what I got.  A bit on the overcooked side of things for me but I received positive feedback from two really good friends so I decided to go ahead & post it.

Now the tricky bit... lets see if I can remember what I used.  MFT dies, including the newer royal leaf... I absolutely love that it has so many sizes and has the embossing on the leaves.  The flowers are a comination of Memory Box Fancy Blossoms die & the small Martha Stewart punch.  The paper is from Pebbles (Floral Lane) and the floral strip is the bit on the end of the 12x12 sheet that I just chopped off and used instead of ribbon.  Stamp is from Penny Black... I really like the sentiment.  So true.

Well, it`s back to work for me this week... which means early to bed early to rise.

`Till next time.
Thanks again for stopping by!!

Carla.

Here Comes The Bride... Bella Style

Love this sweet Uptown Girl "Brigitte" the beautiful bride - from Stamping Bella.  I did her in white and not-so-white (lol).

Sentiments on both cards are from Verve... and the roses are made from the MFT royal rose die.  Both cards are 5 x 6.5.

One more photo to say Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian Crafty Friends.  Have a great long weekend everyone!!

Cards For Sale

Hi!  I've been on holidays for a week and have been busy making cards.  I thought I would make smaller notecards in sets of 3's and list them in my Etsy Store.  Here's a few samples:

And now it's time to clean up my massive mess!!  (Unless I just make a few more first......hmmmm.....).

Memory Box

I tried a little something different with my Arboscello Tree Memory Box die.  I made one single tree with the die and then used that as a stencil and sponged around it.  I added the Rounded Fence die at the bottom and stamped the Verve sentiment overtop.  I like the effect.

I used Spellbinders 8 & 10 to frame it all.  Love this beautiful sentiment from Mother Teresa.

TGIF by the way!  I stopped on the way home from work to pick up the much coveted Beautiful Moments paper by Carta Bella... gonna be digging into that this weekend for sure!!  It has a gorgeous weight and beautiful muted tones - right up my alley.

See you soon!

In Deepest Sympathy

It's with a heavy heart that I made this card.  Started on Friday and just couldn't concentrate.  Had a few stops and starts and finally finished today.  As I worked I just couldn't help but think of the tragedy this family is having to endure.

While deployed in Afghanistan, a co-worker has received the most horrible news that his 20 year old son has passed away here in Kingston.  I can't even begin to get my head around what he and his family must be going through right now.  I made this card for our entire office to sign & give him.  I'll need to add many pages on the inside because I know the support for him will be enormous.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Darren.

Walzingmouse Stamps 100th Sketch Challenge

I honestly can't remember if I've ever tried a sketch challenge before, but I was eager to play along with this one for Walzingmouse Stamps.  The problem I had was I didn't own any WM stamps... so I downloaded a freebie and went from there.    (I've quickly rectified the fact that I didn't own any by the way... lol... my little package from Ireland is on the way).

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card based on the sketch:

I used my 2 favorite papers - Jilly Bean & MME Miss Caroline.  And as usual, I used a mixture of dies: Spellbinders Labels 20, Memory Box Madera Corner, Lil' Inker Designs bow die and MFT scallop ribbon border die.  Sentiment is from Just Rite, impage coloured with copics.  And of course the image is from Walzingmount Stamps - and it's a freebie!!  (The beautiful turquoise ribbon came on a birthday present I received!!)

Thanks for stopping by!!  Until next time...
Carla.

Pearls in My Hair

I just loved this digi image when I stumbled on it here.  Had to buy it right away!  This image is called Pearls in My Hair so I tried pearls, rhinestones & liquid pearls....

I like the pearls the best.  So fun!

Having an awesome week off work.  Surprisingly enough it hasn't all been card-making... apparently there are other things in life??  Who knew!  Actually I had every intention of spring-cleaning... but it dawned on me that it's really"summer", not spring... and who ever heard of summer-cleaning?  I mean, that's not even a thing.  So I opted for the next best thing... going for some walks, a bit of shopping and of course a pedicure....

Well I'm off to take my Copics for another spin tonight.  Going to get a walk in first and then it's the craft room for me.

Hope you are having a great week as well!
Till next time,
Carla.

Faith

Saw this sentiment in my Facebook feed this afternoon and immediately thought it would look nice in a card... so I just printed it on some SU Whisper White.  I made the white layer by using the small fleur de lis from the older fleur de lis spellbinder set... and just placed 4 of them in a square formation.  I used the new cross collection for the brown cross and placed the sentiment on top.  The beautiful lace at the bottom I bought from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Ribbon Store... and of course I'm hoarding it.  LOL

The inside I kept simple and stamped a little image from a Verve set called Because of You.

Well I'm actually on holidays this week and unfortunately feeling under the weather.  Figures, eh?!  Oh well, I'm going to have "Faith" that this won't last and I'll be up and at 'em in no time.

Until next time,
Carla.

A Lifetime of Happiness

I love making wedding cards.  In fact my craft room is a little heavy on roses, lace, silk, pearls, hearts & flowers.  Can't help it... I gravitate towards the stuff.  Whenever I get a chance to make a wedding card; I jump at it.  I was recently asked to make one and the only stipulation was that it had to be black, white... and purple

I'm not a fan of purple.

I fussed, hummed and hawed... pulled out the 2 pieces of purple paper I own  (probably bought by accident)... twirled my hair... made a coffee, put in a laundry and when I ran out of things to procraste with... I began.  Basically it did not come together easily, but in the end I was happy with the outcome.

Not sure why I let it cause me so much grief... so when I learned that the bride & groom loved the card; I was absolutely THRILLED.  I just love that.

Here's a nice picture the bride's family took... looks all soft & dreamy.

I'm just basically a point & shoot girl.  (... camera that is).

I did stumble across a neat idea with the pin... perhaps you might already do it but I had recently bought a pair of earrings and the tiny plastic backing on them was perfect to cap the pointed end of the pin.  I do hate leaving the end exposed and usually try burying it somehow... always afraid a child will pick it up... and... well I dunno.  But I'm so tickled pink that these little plastic ends that come on new earrings just fit beautifully and give me peace of mind. lol

Well it's Mother's Day weekend... I've already posted 6 Mother's Day cards and with ONE Mom, that's not at all bad.  8)

Hope all you Mom's out there have a lovely well deserved weekend and that your kids spoil you rotten.

Till next time,
Carla.

Because of You

I thought this would make a nice Mother's Day card - I like the simple message but I held back from stamping the traditional Happy Mother's Day on the inside because it may have other uses.

I saw a blog post recently of a beautiful card of a dress form with sheer polka dot ribbon ... so it gave me the idea to try this with the satin ribbon and I used the MFT dress form die.  The sentiment (inside & out) are from the same Verve set.  All dies are from Spellbinder & MFT and the white scallop edge is a Martha Stewart punch.  Of course I had to get my flourishes in there.........  ;)

Thanks for stopping by for a peek!!  'Till next time.......
